The origins of the #leapyear can be traced back to the Egyptian Empire, who created a 365-day calendar to mimic the Solar Calendar. Around 3,000 years later, Julius Caesar, the Roman Emperor, recognized the existence of winter and created a 12 month 365-day calendar based on the Egyptians. However, it was later discovered that the earth has 365.24 days per year, so Caesar instituted a leap year every four years to ensure the alignment of the man-made and solar calendars. π€
